Pulse
About Pulse
Pulse is a wearable built for people who’d rather test than guess. It tracks sleep, energy, and habits; then helps you run experiments to see what actually makes a difference. No generic advice. No subscriptions.
Our team is venture-backed by leading investors such as Collab+Currency, Lemniscap, Delphi Digital, and Lattice Fund.
About the Role
We're looking for an iOS Developer to take ownership of the mobile experience for Pulse Mobile App, the central hub for users to interact with their health data, rewards, and community. This role is critical in ensuring seamless real-time data flows from the Pulse One wearable to users' devices, delivering actionable health insights whilst maintaining high performance and responsiveness.
In addition to building exceptional user experiences, you'll work closely with the backend and hardware teams to ensure flawless integration of wearable data into the mobile app. You'll play a key role in shaping the technical direction of our mobile products whilst pushing the boundaries of what health apps can achieve.
What You'll Do
As an iOS Developer at Pulse, you will:
Take the lead in architecting, building and scaling the mobile app, ensuring seamless functionality for tracking health metrics, rewards, and user engagement.
Collaborate closely with the engineering team to deliver a mobile experience that's slick, intuitive, and engaging for users.
Build, implement, and maintain payment flows, subscription system, and in-app purchase mechanisms.
Monitor and optimise app performance to ensure smooth operation across devices and OS versions.
Write clean, maintainable code and implement rigorous testing to deliver a robust, scalable platform.
You'll have the autonomy to select your own tools and libraries helping build the foundations of our mobile stack.
Contribute to the product roadmap, ensuring alignment with business goals and user needs.
What We're Looking For
5+ years of mobile development experience, including building real-time, scalable systems for consumer applications.
Proven experience shipping mobile applications with a strong portfolio of published (or unpublished personal projects!) apps.
Expertise in native iOS development using Swift, including building and maintaining custom native modules and hardware integrations.
Startup experience is essential - you should have experience working in fast-paced, early-stage environments where you've worn multiple hats.
Demonstrated ability to create sophisticated, high-performance user interfaces that are visually polished and user-friendly.
Proactive problem-solving and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment.
A passion for health, fitness, or wellness technologies.
Nice to have: Experience working with hardware devices, Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), or wearable integrations.
What We Offer
Generous salary and a competitive equity package—be part of our journey and share in our success.
Flexible, fully remote work environment, allowing you to work from anywhere.
An opportunity to make a meaningful impact at an early-stage company poised to transform health tech.
A culture that values creativity, ownership, and continuous learning.
