We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented person to join the team as a Technical Accounting Lead. Reporting to the Head of Finance you will be responsible for the statutory reporting close across all group entities, as well as group consolidated reporting. You will provide technical accounting advice across the group and be the key point of contact for external audit across all geographies. You will be working closely with the senior members of the group finance team and other key senior stakeholders in the wider, as well as external partners and advisers.

You should be a qualified financial professional with a strong history in audit. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of appropriate financial accounting treatment for trading firms and crypto, and will be the perfect first role for someone looking to leave practice and move into industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation of the Group’s (consolidated and individual legal entity) statutory financial reporting.
  • Working alongside the Financial Control team to ensure smooth delivery the financial information required for statutory reporting.
  • Audit liaison and compliance for year end.
  • Ensure Revenue recognition policy is appropriate.
  • Development of relevant accounting policies on an ongoing basis, especially in respect of new products.
  • Assisting on financial due diligence on any proposed acquisitions.
  • Understand accounting practices of newly acquired entities to identify accounting issues and assess the impact of any changes.
  • Support with ongoing finance change/ transformation projects on an ongoing basis as the business continues to invest.

Requirements

  • Fully qualified Accountant.
  • Minimum 5+ years of post qualified experience in practice (strong preference for top 6).
  • In depth technical knowledge of French GaaP and IFRS. Experience with US or Singapore GaaP would be advantageous.
  • Experience of auditing financial service clients, ideally with exposure to firms trading complex financial instruments.
  • Proven track record of managing audit engagements.
  • A good awareness of the regulatory and compliance landscapes, specific to both trading and crypto.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships at all levels, including the Board.
  • Sound judgment and strong analytical skills, with a proactive and practical approach to tax risks.
  • English is mandatory.

  • Passionate about cryptocurrency and blockchain.
  • Analytical thinker with the ability to understand problems, determine root cause and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • You are an excellent communicator, able to provide mentorship and training to stakeholders on tax-related topics.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; must be able to relate complex concepts in a concise and easy to understand manner.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects, often under tight time constraints.
  • Effectively work with peers, leadership, and stakeholders in a productive collaborative environment.
  • Being happy diving into detail, but also stepping back and putting the bigger picture at the forefront of decisions making.
  • Knowledge of Web3 environment is a plus
